"This 7" was recorded for a demo in 1984. 2000 Maniacs' sound is very similar to that of the early '80s DC bands, and these tracks would fit in easily on Flex Your Head. I like this record - it has a raw, snotty feel. The band mixes straightforward hardcore punk with some thrash parts and some really great midtempo riffs ? la Eye For An Eye-era COC. Two of the members went on to form Unseen Force and this record features an early version of "Reason to Live" which was recorded by that band for their excellent In Search of the Truth LP two years later."
