DEEP SLEEP - "MANIC EUPHORIA" 7"
Two years, lineup changes, drugs, jail, and other assorted misfortunes can't keep a good band down. Baltimore's DEEP SLEEP are back with a vengeance, this time around firing out six more tracks of their brand of seething yet addictive punk rock. Expanding on the early southern california punk influences of the first record, and adding an extra dosage of ALL/Descendents style weirdness and catchiness to the picture, MANIC EUPHORIA shows a distinct evolution from their debut while maintaining all of the elements you grew to love in the first place.
CLOAK/DAGGER - "KAMIKAZES" 7"
CLOAK/DAGGER tear through the distinctive guitar fuzz driven track "KAMIKAZES" off of their 2007 "WE ARE" full length (vinyl version out spring 2008 on GRAVE MISTAKE) on the A-side, then a blistering rendition of the MODERN LOVER'S cut "SHE CRACKED" on the flip. Still out of control, and you've still got a problem.
NIGHTSTICK JUSTICE - "CLAUSTROPHOBIC E.P." 7"
On their second E.P. (and third vinyl output) California's NIGHTSTICK JUSTICE bring you five more discordant cuts of raw and explosive hardcore! If you were lucky enough to grab either their demo 7" or the MINDLESS VIOLENCE E.P. on WAY BACK WHEN / EVEN WORSE you have an idea of what to expect: fast and biting hardcore that combines a range of influences and elements from early boston and california hc to japanese hardcore. With this new E.P., NIGHTSTICK JUSTICE have honed their sound even tighter and cranked up the power and intensity times ten, pummeling you with a nonstop barrage of sonic insanity. If you are still standing by the end of this EP, their upcoming 12" on TANKCRIMES will be sure to finish the job this summer.

We've been working hard as can be since the beginning of 2008 to get these out, after a few unexpected delays all three records are good to go and we couldn't be happier with how they turned out. As always we have a bunch of limited colored versions in the GRAVE MISTAKE WEBSTORE so head on over and pick em up while you can! Also just added a bunch of great new distro stuff as well (including new records from SEX/VID, BRUTAL KNIGHTS, UBER, DANGERLOVES, PEDESTRIANS, and more), see below for more info on that.

On Saturday, April 5th, DEEP SLEEP and CLOAK/DAGGER will be playing MACROCK 2008 in Harrisonburg, VA this year along with GOVERNMENT WARNING, DOUBLE NEGATIVE, THE LADIES, POLICE AND THIEVES, and a ton more so come on out and pick up the new singles!!! I will also be doing a label panel with Rich from PARTS UNKNOWN and the dude from MAGIC BULLET. I think that's at noon or one so come out early and ask us stupid questions.
NIGHTSTICK JUSTICE just finished up a quick tour up and down their home state of CA with VA's own SOCIALCIDE, reports were that good times were had by all. NIGHTSTICK JUSTICE are about to embark on a full EUROPEAN TOUR so please check em out if they hit your area! Ronald from WAY BACK WHEN RECORDS put the tour together so check out his site for more info.

We've also got some killer stuff lined up next ... first up will be a repress of the IRON BOOTS DEMO 7"! Yes, this demo/record is so good that I begged the band to let me put it back in print, making GRAVE MISTAKE the THIRD label to release this! Hell, I wanted to release it back in 2004 but someone else beat me to it and, well you know the rest of that story. Luckily the record was released properly by the fine people at BRAIN GRENADE, but that press came and went pretty quick. They agreed to let me do another round just incase anyone missed this gem the first two times. This should hopefully be ready to go by the end of April.
After that, we will be helping CLOAK/DAGGER press up their 2007 Jade Tree full length "WE ARE" onto vinyl ... because seriously, who the hell buys CDs these days? So if you slept on it for this reason ... now you have no excuse. This 12" kills from start to finish ... if you don't believe me then you will just have to see for yourself. And to top it off, we had the entire record remastered by our good buddy DAN RANDALL at MAMMOTH SOUND. So get excited, because this thing is going to sound incredible once that needle hits the wax. That should hopefully be out in early May.
And to keep with the theme of "putting out stuff other people have already put out," this summer you can expect to see a US pressing of the debut 7" from Richmond, VA's one and only DIRECT CONTROL. Originally pressed on KANGAROO RECORDS in 2004, the band agreed to let me do an official press over here. Although a good amount made it across the pond, a few more can't hurt! So, once we track down a master CD (we THINK one of the band members might still have one), we'll be off and running. You should be familiar enough will DIRECT CONTROL by now, as they are one of the best harcore bands going these days ... if you were having trouble getting your hands on one of those s/t 7"s, then that's what we are here for.Now all we need to do is find that master CD ... hopefully this repress will be ready for NO WAY FEST in June.
The final upcoming release I'm going to announce is from the UK's one and only VIOLENT ARREST!!! We will once again be teaming up with our good friends at NO WAY RECORDS to bring you not one new 7", but a DOUBLE 7" of all new material from this awesome band. Hopefully you've picked up their two records on DERANGED, the new stuff rips just as hard if not harder! Apparently these guys know how to crank out the hits because they had enough new material for two new records, so we thought it would be a cool idea to do this project together. Hope to have these by mid summer!
On a final note ... I want to say an official goodbye to one of my favorite hardcore bands of all time, 86 MENTALITY. 86 played their last show on March 22nd, and needless to say, they went out on top as expected. It was an honor to have been able to work with such an incredible band. I can honestly say that, without them, there would be no GRAVE MISTAKE RECORDS. So thanks dudes ... you will be missed.
